In this powerful live demonstration, I sit down with a volunteer to explore a vivid, unsettling dream using the gestalt approach to dreamwork. Rather than interpreting or analyzing, we invite the dream to come alive in the here-and-now, allowing spontaneous embodiment and present-moment awareness to reveal the subconscious messages woven within.
As the volunteer steps into different parts of the dream, including a symbolic former teacher and other surreal figures, layers of perfectionism, fear, and longing begin to surface. Through this embodied inquiry, deeper truths emerge around belonging, self-acceptance, and the existential questions held in the dream.
This process offers a profound example of how Gestalt therapy uses creativity and presence to access inner knowing—without bypassing the complexity of emotion or trying to “figure it out.”
